Help and Tips for Posting Jobs on Casino Careers

Note: Before beginning, we recommend pasting your job description into Notepad to make it plain text and then copying and pasting this version into our site. You can generally find Notepad by going to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories (or on Windows Vista, you should be able to just type "Notepad" into your Start Menu search bar to find it).

1. The Job Posting Bar
2. Indicating Gaming Experience
3. Designating Which Emails to Receive
4. How Does Your Job Look?

The Job Posting Bar

1. Cut/Copy/Paste Tools: These allow you to use basic clipboard function. Some web browsers may have security settings which prevent you from using these buttons. In you encounter this, just use the keyboard shortcuts to perform these functions.
Ctrl + X - cut
Ctrl + C - copy
Ctrl + V - paste

2. Bold/Italic/Underline Commands: Similar to most Word Processing programs, these allow you to add basic formatting to your job postings.

3. Outdent/Indent: These allow you to move a block of text inward or outward.

4. Left Align/Center/Right Align: These allow you to change the alignment of your text.

5. Ordered/Unordered Lists: These allow you to make either an ordered (numbered) or unordered (bulleted) list.

6. Insert Table: This allows you to insert a table for arranging text, much like in Microsoft Word.

7. Insert/Remove Link: Here, you can insert a new link. Please set all link targets to be "New Window" so that when people click them, they are not taken away from your job posting.

If you want to unlink text, the Remove Link button gives you an easy way to do this.

8. Special Characters: This allows you to add special characters not normally on your keyboard (such as accented letters)

9. View Source: This allows you to see the HTML code behind the job posting. If you need to completely clear out everything in the box, you should click this button and delete the code and then click the button again to return to the editor.

10. Font Face: Here, you can change the type of font for your text. We recommend using Arial, as it is the most web-friendly font.

11. Font Size: Here, you can change the size of the font. It uses the same numbers as Microsoft Word. We recommend using either 10 or 12 point fonts, so they are legible without being too big.

12. Font Color: Clicking this will give you a list of colors to pick from. You can use color to emphasize text, but this shouldn't be done to excess.

13. Spellcheck: We offer a spell checking program that will help catch your spelling errors. Please note that if you copy and paste text from the web or from Microsoft Word, it can contain special formatting that will interfere with the spell checker's ability to correctly read words. It is recommend that you use Microsoft Word's spell checker for documents created in Word. You can also use Notepad to remove formatting before pasting in job related verbiage and then use the Spellcheck.

Indicating Gaming Experience

Select the appropriate button (above Requirements) to indicate if Gaming Industry experience is not important, preferred or required.

Designating Which Emails to Receive

At the bottom of the posting page, you will see a question that asks, "Do you want our Candidates to email you their Casino Careers resume?"

Explanation of your options:
1. Option 1 - receive the resumes from all Job Seekers via email.
The resume of Job Seekers who click on the Send Resume button, are sent to your Applicant Tracking Report. This option also sends them to your email address.

It also creates an Email Employer button to appear in your posting, so that Job Seekers who do not have a resume posted with Casino Careers, can email a resume or inquiry to you directly.

Both the Send Resume button and the Email Employer button hide your email address from spammers.

2. Option 2 - you do not wish to receive any email from Job Seekers under any circumstance.

3. Option 3 - you will not receive an email copy of resumes submitted through the Send Resume button, but you will still have the Email Employer button active to receive emails from Job Seekers that do not have a resume with Casino Careers.
